On offer is an interesting and beautiful upper jaw of an adult Woolly Mammoth from the Pleistocene era with a good M3 molar still locked in the jaw tissue. The piece must have come from an adult animal, judging from the size of the molar. These intricate fossils are almost never found intact, and although this is only a partial jaw it is well preserved with many details of anatomy still visible, as seen in the images. The black and white section of the ruler in the image represents 10 cm / 3.9 inch. Very interesting shape and a work of art in its own right! This piece comes from an old collection. The black and white section of the ruler in the image represents 10 cm / 3.9 inch.
