On offer is a massive and stunning femur of an adult male Woolly Mammoth from the Pleistocene era. The femur was located in the upper rear legs of the animal and are comparable to the bone in the upper legs of humans. They are among the biggest and most impressive bones of the mammoth as they had to carry a large part of the animal's gigantic weight. The present item is very rare indeed for its size and weight and must have belonged to a fully grown animal. Professionally restored from the original pieces (large fossils like this are rarely found intact) but overall in excellent condition and highly recommended for serious collectors. The black and white section of the ruler in the image represents 10 cm / 3.9 inch.
