On offer is a beautiful femur of a Woolly Mammoth from the Pleistocene era. The femur was located in the upper rear legs of the animal and are comparable to the bone in the upper legs of humans. They are among the biggest and most impressive bones of the mammoth as they had to carry a large part of the animal's gigantic weight. The fossil is in good condition, there is only a small damage, otherwise in good condition, as shown in the images. Also there are some knife or axe marks, which are recent (possibly made when it was excavated from the permafrost). The black and white section of the ruler in the image represents 10 cm / 3.9 inch.
