On offer is a tibia or shinbone of a Woolly Mammoth from the Pleistocene era, in good condition as shown in the photographs. Judging from the size this probably belonged to a not fully grown animal. The tibia is one of the mammoth's most impressive bones. Just like that of humans, it was located in the animal's back, lower legs and it thus had to support the animals massive weight. The black and white section of the ruler in the image represents 10 cm / 3.9 inch.
