On offer is a complete tibia or shinbone of a Woolly Mammoth, in stunning condition as shown in the photographs and a good example of an adult female Woolly Mammoth (somewhat smaller than adult male mammoths), from the Pleistocene era. This is the right tibia of the animal. The tibia is one of the mammoth's most impressive bones. Just like that of humans, it was located in the animal's back, lower legs and it thus had to support the animals massive weight. The black and white section of the ruler in the image represents 10 cm / 3.9 inch.
